Challenge
Being a small business and not having a network structure, we originally took back
ups manually to an external hard drive as it was vital to have a copy of all our
files in case we encountered any problems and needed to access the backed up files.
This system was not foolproof as it was reliant on us being available and having
the time to do the manual back ups on a regular basis.
Having had a number of computer problems that required new equipment to be purchased
on at least two occasions, we needed to find a better solution to be protected and
have our information ready to re-install at short notice.
Solution
We provided an appropriate solution, installation and configuration along with monthly
monitoring. We created an online backup policy for all the client folders to run
on a regular basis throughout the day (every 4 hours) and copy them immediately
off-site.
Results
The data at Solar Office Support is now backed up every 4 hours, encrypted and copied
off-site to our secure data centre. It is centrally managed and monitored.
After we needed to purchase new equipment, they worked very quickly to re-install
all our information and ensure our anti-virus was up-to-date, ironing out any problems
that arose and handing over a system that meant we were up and running again within
a very short space of time.
Having the confidence in the backup system
and the security of knowing that if any problems arise they will get dealt with
immediately and we will be up and running again within a very short space of time
means that we can concentrate on business.
